By car - leave the M11 at Junction 8 and take the A120 signposted Great Dunmow/Colchester. Continue for about 17 miles along the A120 past Great Dunmow. At the roundabout where the A131 joins from the right, take the first exit left onto Pods Brook road. At the roundabout ½ mile later, take the 3rd exit right onto Rayne road. Follow this road into the centre of Braintree, about ¾ mile later you will find a fork in the road with Bocking End to your left and Coggeshall Road to your right, the hotel is at the junction between these two roads. By train - the hotel is under a mile from Braintree Station. Turn left out of the station and walk along Station Approach. At the end of the road, cross South Street and continue along Fairfield road. When you reach Manor St, turn left and then immediately right into School Walk. Follow School Walk and then The Avenue to Coggeshall Road, where you turn left. The hotel is on your right a few hundred yards later, at the junction with Bocking End. |
